Medical / Clinical Hypnosis
What
does the ability to manage chronic pain, cure insomnia,
alleviate panic attacks, reduce migraines and give up
cigarettes forever, all have in common? They are all
issues being addressed and overcome every day with the
use of hypnosis.
Since licensed therapist, Bob Higgins, added clinical
and medical hypnosis to his therapeutic tool box, he
reports that he is able to see changes in some clients
in just a few sessions that would normally take months
of traditional therapy to correct. Bob has been
certified in clinical and medical hypnosis and
is an active member of the American Psychotherapy and
Medical Hypnosis Association.
Hypnosis has been around in one form or another since
biblical times but it was not until 1958 that it was
officially recognized by the American Medical
Association as a legitimate adjunct therapy to medical
and mental health practice. Hypnosis is now being used
successfully to help with fertility issues, headaches,
insomnia, and to help cancer patients manage the pain
and stress associated with their treatments. It has also
helped millions of Americans lose weight and/or give up
smoking.
Hypnosis is safe, natural and very relaxing. It has been
shown that 20 minutes of hypnosis provides your body
with the same benefits as 4-5 hours of restful sleep.
Most clients also report that they are more focused at
work, more patient with their spouse/children, and they
sleep better at night after a hypnosis session
regardless of the reason that they sought hypnosis in
the first place.
HypnoBirthing
HypnoBirthing
is a philosophy of natural and gentle birthing that was
developed by Marie Mongan, M.Ed., M. Hy. in 1989 to
assist her own daughter in delivering her first baby.
Since that time the HypnoBirthing method has gained
world wide recognition and validation. I have had the
privilege of studying with Marie Mongan and have earned
certification as a HypnoBirthing practitioner.
